"Baby Blue Moon" -Sold

Hi, this is a "Baby" Blue Moon. I finished this little painting today while it was pouring rain in Gaylord, MI.

Four friends and I am in Michigan at a "Ladies Golf Escape", where I should really have no time for painting. Today it rained, I mean poured all day so, between spending quality time with my friends and the golf instruction, I was able to finish this little painting. It is after one of my popular pieces "Blue Moon, Blue Moon, Blue Moon".

Just a warning, I may not post again until Monday June 1st, this trip is running through Saturday night late. I'm finding it is very tricky to paint "on the road".

I'll be back!!

"I'm Purple II -Sold

This little flower is a close up from the bunch that I painted yesterday. I approached this one a little looser and had a better time of it!!

Guess I was "inspired" : )

"Inspired..."

Sometimes, I think, it's not necessarily "getting it right", but being inspired by what you see...
These little posies are just some flowery weeds from our neighbor's side hill. The color, I did not have in my palette. I tried and tried, and I tried... without going to the art supply store I could not get this color--- sigh...

Inspired....

"Teacher's Favorite"

It's another apple! This is number three... hope I don't lose count...

This red gayla gave me a little trouble today. I guess I'll keep practicing!!

I took care of it though, it did not survive, I ate it as a snack!

"Blue Martini" -Sold

This painting I had to sit in a chair to get the point of view I was after...I never sit down to paint, maybe I did in grade school and high school, but after that I don't remember ever sitting down to paint. It was tricky, but I did it and I only had to get up three times!
I tried to get the shadow to the center of the painting, hopefully it is not a distraction, but more interesting as a composition!

PS: Of course it's a Grey Goose martini!

"Sour Apple"

This little green apple was sour! I ate it after I painted it and it was sour. Remember eating green apples and the belly ache after...well this Granny Smith could have been one of those!!

By the way this is #2 of the 100 apples!!

"Soon to be Sauce" -Sold

Maybe the title will give this one away...

Whew, I worked hard on this painting and stuggled with the medium. The material is Golden's Open acrylic paints. I tried to use the same gusto and techiquie as I do with oil paints. Fact is, it didn't work that way, I did the best I can do for now. I may try again...well, of course I will, I have paint left!!!

"Granny Smith's Green" -Sold

This could be the first of my 100 apples... Do you like apples?

Last week, I read a book titled "Heartbeat" by Sharon Creech. This is a book for young adults, but was a great read recommended by a visitor to my studio during the Open House, a few weekends ago. Great book. One of Annie's (the main character) projects was to do 100 drawings of an apple...great story. I may do 100 apple paintings, of course I should eat those apples, that would make it a healthy project too!!

"Give Me Some Room!" -Sold

The two olives sitting in this Grey Goose martini seem to be fighting for their space.
Sometimes we have to fight for our space...or maybe it's just me... maybe it's this martini!
