"And Then We Played The Back Nine"

Must be getting the "golf bug"....

This is one of my imaginary golf courses. This summer for sure, I am taking my paint box outside to the golf course. Sorry my golf buddies, I'll be painting. Guess I could always do a painting, play a round, do a painting, play a round.....

"Apple Ambrosia"

The label on the side of this apple says "Ambrosia".

Painting without much thought and maybe a little sloppy lately. I think I need to slow down and do some squinting and just looking a little more. Seems like sometimes I'm getting in too much of a hurry to finish the painting, instead of enjoying the process. Like that old song "Slow down, you move too fast, you got to make the morning last, just kicking down the cobble stones, looking for fun and feelin' groovy. ..."
I'm not really feeling groovy about what's happening.....

Okay, slow it down jM!

This is apple number 18!

I found a painter that is doing an apple a day, pretty cool. His name is Gerald De Dios, check him out!!

"Abstract Granny" -Sold

Granny Smith.... she's an "Abstract Granny".
Abstract... it's fun. Must be why I do it. Comes from the heart better when it's fun too!

As I started this painting, doing a close up of this apple made me want to have a bigger brush.
Interesting... when things or subjects are farther away I need a smaller brush, when I get too, too close, seems I need a larger brush. Hmmm... could be my imagination, it does get carried away a lot!!

It's fun.

"It's An Apple"

Of course "It's An Apple", but not just any apple... it's number 16 of my gradual goal of 100 apple paintings!
Wish I knew what kind it is. I know it's big, but I forgot to check the kind when we were shopping yesterday. I do know that they taste good, as this is the last one and I'm sure it won't last long!!

Sorry about the gap in my painting, but I've had the same thing everyone gets this time of year... a cold/flu... eeewwwwuuu.

Hope you're all well. I'm doing much better, thanks.

"Oh Go Snow"

Not sure if it's the snow or the grey skies that is getting this girl down. I think it's the grey, lack of sunshine, that will do it every time!
I was trying to do one of my "funky females" with this one, but I didn't quite accomplish what I was after. Some of you may recognize this similar image from the "Different Strokes From Different Folks" challenge that was in December. I had a sketch on this panel, but I didn't use it in December. I thought I would try to make her "funky" but I just couldn't do it with that expression, so this is it.
The hand, why do we have to make them hard, they shouldn't be... keep trying.

Well, I'm free to try for another funky one, so watch out, I think I'm due!

Oh, sun shine.... on.. us!

"Little Katie" -Sold

Little Katie, the porcelain doll. Well, at least that is what she looks like sometimes. Katie is my sister Vickie's granddaughter. This is my "fun Friday" painting.

Today is Vickie's birthday... and it is also Vickie's son, Josh's birthday... Josh is Katie's dad!
Wow! Happy Birthday! There will be a party tonight... I'm sure....  : )

"Center of Attention" -Sold

Here it is, another Manhattan. Hope you're not too bored with this. Sometimes, drinks are the center of consideration when we have a lot on our mind...

That being said, I will be away from the easel this week. I will be in FLA visiting a few friends. Oh, so sad, I have to get away from all of this snow and cold. I'm sure the warm sunshine will be awfully nice! : )

Look for another painting late in the week... maybe Friday or Saturday... hopefully, I'll come home with some new inspirations.

"Orange At Night" -Sold

It's another one of these... what ever these are...
"Orange in the Morning Sailors at Warning, Orange at Night Sailors Delight"
I'm really not sure how that goes, but I believe it was my Dad that told me that little saying the first time.
Today is his birthday, I think he would have been 82 today, still young by today's standards.
Happy Birthday Dad!

"Heart of Manhattan"

This is not a little painting, it is more like 16"x12".  This size is relatively small, but then compared to a 6"x6" it's  gargantuan!!

No "little" painting today, I've been working on this larger one and it is ready for framing.

After finishing this painting today, I realized how good this blog has been for me. Not only have I finished this painting, I have taken a photo of it and have it documented. That in itself is huge!

Blogging is good...
