"UpSideDown Apple" -Sold

Ah ha! This is apple number 20! It's up-side down! Can you tell? This is also another one of those "itty bitty" paintings.

Make me want to have up-side down cake... is there an up-side down apple cake?

"Confrontation" Revisited -Sold

Recognize this painting? No, I didn't paint the same scene again, I just went back into it and cleaned 'er up a bit. I think she looks better.... he looks better... 'er...

Today, I've been working on a larger painting for the annual "One Peek" Show here at the StutzArtSpace.
We, the Stutz Artists, have a huge open house every year, the last weekend in April. This year I believe is our 18th, and it's my fourth. Wow, time does fly doesn't it? Here is my larger painting:
I have not given it a name (title) yet. It is a larger version of "Center of Attention", it is 20"x20" oil on canvas... it is a Makers Mark Manhattan from the Snooty Fox... at least, that is where the inspiration for this painting came from!!

"Confrontation" -Sold "Revisited"

Really, I don't know why I chose that title... guess that is what it looks like to me....
This was a really quick painting... I just had to paint, I've been away too long,  sooo... I did a "Nike" and just did it!!

Hi! Sorry I've been away for a while....whew, been busy with paper work and still don't have my tax stuff ready! Oh, sorry to bring up my personal life... TMI!!!

Happy Monday!

"She's Happy"

Needs a little more work, but I think I'll keep trying the caricature concept.

Translating graphite (or pencil) to paint is a bit different and harder than straight pencil drawings.

Color is the challenge. Challenge is good.

I cut the top of her head (hair) off too, but I think with more time and practice. If you're game, I'm game.

Maybe I should use more black (there is no black in this painting) like Bernard Buffet.

Next..........

"Smooth Character"

This is one of the caricatures I did this past weekend in the caricature workshop.
The workshop was one of the best I've attended. Katherine Hilden was phenomenal! And fun.
Great personality and very knowledgeable artist.

Now all I need to do is practice!! Yea!

"Bunny, Bunny, Bunny" -Sold

Bunny, bunny, bunny..... I know....., but Easter is close!!  Everyone believes in the Easter Bunny!

Pretty rough painting... I decided to leave the bottom rough or sort of unfinished like, because I'm happy with the face and well.... sometimes... you have to stop! I mean sometimes, I have to stop!

Thanks for stopping by...  : )

"French Master" -Sold

Maybe... this is a sort of self portrait... but then aren't all paintings a self portrait? A little bit of the artist in every painting that the artist paints.

This weekend, I'm taking a caricature workshop that I'm really excited about, so... watch out!!
