"Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA"-Sold

The other day I googled how to draw ellipses, so I continue to practice them. I do need more practice.
This is a glass of Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, if you drink microbrew beers, you may know this one. I think this painting took at least 60 minutes or more to set up, paint and photograph. Just getting everything set up takes time and patience.

"Flower Glass"

Today, Qiang Huang said that he had to "wipe" the painting he did today several times. I need to learn to wipe a painting. I just couldn't do it. This is my version of a wipe I guess............ jM

It's Friday.......it's a gin martini with an olive........ a lot of reflection .........what was I thinking using a black back drop!!??!!

Today I did a color swatch.........that was good again...here it is the swatch ...



I may not have time to paint tomorrow ...but I did finish this today too, so show it ..... why not??

May Be a "Wiper"

This could be a "wiper".................. Today I was working without an easel. I had my painting laying flat on the table and found late into the painting that my glass was starting to lean to the left. I was turning my head sideways and there you go, a leaning glass!
I'll look at this again tomorrow, it's been a long day. I'll find an easel!

"Love"-Sold

Well, it has been a while, but here I go again.

This little painting is one of my first actual still lives. 

If you can't tell, it's a tennis ball. In tennis the score starts "love, love", thus the title "Love".     jM

"Three Builds"

This isn't the painting I set out to finish today. This just came into the picture at the end of the day.

This is oil based printing ink and oil pastels on paper. I did the printing back in May of '08. Today, I taped the piece onto my drawing board and had another look at it ...... then added the bits and pieces using the oil pastels.

After photographing it and looking at the painting it this format, I may go back into this just a little bit more....just a few subtle touches...............jM
