"Day Moon 1" & "Day Moon 2" -Both Sold

12
Day Moon 1 and Day Moon 2. After I photographed these I saw a couple things I'd like to do differently next time, so... I guess I'll have to try these again.

We just had a full moon the past week. Two days in a row, I saw the moon in the West sky, but it was early morning and daytime, like blue sky, hence "Day Moon". I guess this could be a sun too, but JanettMarie sees a moon today.    : )

New DP 8.25.10 ... "Clara" -Sold

This is a new, umm something or other, direction?

This is inspired for the show that I'll be participating in at the StutzArtSpace in October. It's 10 women with  10 different voices. I'm about to show one of my voices. Is that like wearing different hats?

If you're lost, don't worry, I usually am too! I don't even have a title for this yet! I keep seeing different things in this image.

Apples 24, 25 and 26!

This one is titled "Apple After My Heart". I thought it looked a little like my heart and it came from my heart and it's good for my heart!

This number 25 is titled "Hearty Apple" because it does look like a "hearty" apple in more ways than one!

This one I just titled "Apple Number 26" because it's true!!  -Sold

All three of these paintings are aqua-media on paper. I say aqua-media, because I used acrylic, and these really cool water-soluble colour crayons by Caran D'Ache of Switzerland. They are fun. You can draw with them and then brush on some water and blend them if you like. Oh, such fun!

More apples for pie, leigh!!

"Potential Pie" -Sold

This apple looks like a good candidate for a pie. Now, if I could just get my Grandmother to bake it for me!

This is one of the apples from Friday. Hmm, this will be considered number 23.

Away we go!!

"She's a Greenie" -Sold

This greenie is one of the six paintings I did today. Sorry about only showing you one, but it's Friday and time to go home!!
This painting makes my apple count to 22 now. Ole' number 21 was when?.. oh yes, back in April.
It's time to bring out the rest of the apples, and the apple harvest has begun!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Pear-Two and Three

Well, here is the 2nd and 3rd pear from the workshop.
This was one of our early exercises. We laid out three sheets of the blank gessoed paper on the table and painted three different lighting ideas. This one the light source is from the left hitting the pear and the background on the right side too is hit by the light. Kind of like shining a flashlight on the one side. I'm sure we talked about color combinations too, so much info.

Interesting how each of them are so different from the other. Silly me, let me put them up here all three together so you can see!

Bob is a no nonsense guy, he taught us and encouraged us with "pep" talks. He has been teaching workshops for 15 or 20 years (I forget exactly) and he is good!

One day we laid out six pieces of paper and we worked on all six at once! Wow! Now that was a little tricky for me, as I would find myself ignoring one or two of the pieces. I figure a little more time and practice is what I need. Heck! Bob's been doing this how long!! Everyday!!

Loved the workshop and would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to "loosen up". There were no unfriendly environmental fumes, no sprays... it was water and aqua mediums (acrylics, gesso, water soluble pencils) brushes and paper towels (that we used later for collage!).

It was lots of fun with loads of valuable information.

Pear 1

Last week I attended a Robert Burridge workshop in Raleigh, NC. It is called "Loosen Up with Aquamedia". Yup, I loosened up and it was fun. I am filled with ideas and excitement. I think I'm still tired from all of the information pumped into my head also, so I'll be back with more soon!

Good night!
