Well, here is the 2nd and 3rd pear from the workshop.
This was one of our early exercises. We laid out three sheets of the blank gessoed paper on the table and painted three different lighting ideas. This one the light source is from the left hitting the pear and the background on the right side too is hit by the light. Kind of like shining a flashlight on the one side. I'm sure we talked about color combinations too, so much info.
Interesting how each of them are so different from the other. Silly me, let me put them up here all three together so you can see!
Bob is a no nonsense guy, he taught us and encouraged us with "pep" talks. He has been teaching workshops for 15 or 20 years (I forget exactly) and he is good!
One day we laid out six pieces of paper and we worked on all six at once! Wow! Now that was a little tricky for me, as I would find myself ignoring one or two of the pieces. I figure a little more time and practice is what I need. Heck! Bob's been doing this how long!! Everyday!!
Loved the workshop and would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to "loosen up". There were no unfriendly environmental fumes, no sprays... it was water and aqua mediums (acrylics, gesso, water soluble pencils) brushes and paper towels (that we used later for collage!).
It was lots of fun with loads of valuable information.

I can see that the workshop was a lot of fun! Love the pears. The third one is especially a standout with the lighting and the dramatic red!
