I'm a little behind on the 30 paintings in thirty days, but things happen, like stuffy noses and well... you know. Guess I'll have to lay out a bunch of panels and  paint them all at once!!

Do you ever start a painting and it really turns out differently than you thought? This is an example.

It was done from a still life, but the flower was leaning left, not up. I rotated the canvas when I finished the first time and it just did't look right... so I turned it and added the vessel and...
gave myself a second chance!!

Oh Santa, it's been a long night. He has delivered all of the children's gifts and he is ready for his candy cane break!

Cool colors were used in this painting... the alizarin red and phthalo blue, even phthalo green!

I used this little sketch from when? 2007? Wow....
