Avocado I

"Avocado I"  mixed media on canvas  8" x 10"
Yesterday was April Fool's Day, I thought this painting was fooling with me because it seemed like the colors were off or dull or something crazy. I just kept at it then I called for help and help helped!
I put the painting in different light (better light) and then... I took off my glasses! My glasses! My new glasses have a really strong grey tint and that was affecting the way I saw the color in the painting!
Wow, little things.... or little details. Remember smiling will make you feel good!

I absolutely love the avacados. It's like the ones I buy at Aldis. They look good then you open them and there's these brown spots where they ripened unevenly. I go to South America and the fruit there is ripe and ready but here you have to buy them hard and hope they ripen correctly by the time you get ready to use them. So nice.

I've got a blog too on composition and color but have been following you for years.

Thanks Avon. Interestingly the model for this painting did have brown spots inside, so I used a bit of artistic license to freshen it up!

Looking forward to following your adventures with color and composition!
