My artist buddy Martha observed that most of the coffee cups I've painted so far have been coffee mugs!
Guess that is because I tend to drink my coffee out of a mug? Watch out you coffee mugs, some cups will be coming on the scene!

This little painting has a few acrylic "skins" on it. Playing with those skins again. Speaking of skins, if you have a minute, check out the project that some of the lady artists (me included) from the Stutz have been putting together!

"Yellow Cup"

A "Yellow Cup", yup, made this one up right out of my brain. Having a loosey (like Lucy) time.
This little painting has gouache, acrylic and dry pastel. I found dry pastels in my studio the other day and wow, so soft. I have them right where I can find them again!

Red Cup after ink washed off

Here is the red cup after I washed off most of the ink. This is the piece that I really laid the gouache on thick before I inked it. Next, I will go back into the painting again to finish 'er up.

Talking country today... giddy up cowboy.... nope I don't have cowboy boots or a cowboy hat...

"Red in the Spotlight"

Okay, maybe it's spiritual or something, some times paintings just come out of no where... okay, where do they come from? I give up! This is one of those paintings... I apologize ahead of time, I don't know where they come from. If I find the answer I will let you know.... first thing!  ... Intuition?  Ummm...

I will have a painting to post for  Friday for sure... it's not a little painting but it is a 36"x24" especially for February's Wear Red, Go Red....

"Playful Souls" -Sold

Three friends, maybe they are the Mod Squad, going out for the day or night. Maybe they are out Christmas shopping for their friends or each other....

This is acrylic on paper, gold leaf flecks and pieces of acrylic paint "skins" from my palette on paper. I will adhere this to a gallery wrap canvas for the finished piece. 

My big event for the day and this piece is.... I scanned this painting instead of photographing it. So many of my blogger buddies seem to scan their paintings, I thought I would try that. I tried it only because today I got a really super duper good deal on a new printer/scanner/copier and of course I had to give it a try!
