A Couple of White Roses in black, white & gray

"White Rose Two"  8" x 5.5"  Charcoal, gesso, conte on paper
"White Rose Two" is my second attempt with this little rose in a bottle after chatting with Derek Jones about gesso, paper and charcoal as mediums. I will definitely continue exploring this combination and maybe I will become as proficient as he is!

"White Rose One" is my first attempt. Definitely a different look and feel.

These two are little studies I'm doing before the big brush painting I'm going to do.

In the meantime.... check out this video of the Maid of Honor toast given at one of the most beautiful and fun weddings I've attended!

And now as Myra would say.... "Bye bye."

"R Cup"

15"x11" mixed media on paper

Number 68, Randy's coffee cup that I was using Friday morning is the inspiration for this painting.

A little play on words...  R cup... our cup...  : )

How many more? 32? How many days left? Plenty!

Mmmm.... I imagine this coffee has peppermint in it! Mmmm... candy canes.

Okay, it's okay, to be thinking about Christmas. Everyone likes Christmas... cookies! Oh, cookies, yeah.

Here's to cookies!

"Save a Spot" -Sold

8" x 6" oil on canvas panel
It is a cup, it's actually an expresso cup. This painting I think may be too high key at this point so I think I will try this little white cup (well, off white) and plate again. The flower will not make it another day, my lighting was a little too much for it. I was lucky I captured the flower first and the cup and small vase last.
Hmm... who is the star of this painting? The cup?

Thanks Angela for asking for a painting today!

"Black Cup"

8"x6" acrylic on paper mounted on canvas

Black coffee cup. I started this painting with black acrylic, thinking about a black coffee cup that we have in the cabinet at home. Then I was going to paint back into it. When I looked at it the next day, I decided that it looked done! So I have declared it finished.

My homage to Franz Kline!

Off the subject and just for fun check out this video about Bob... maybe you have seen it. Be sure to watch past the first set of credits.
