I'm a little behind on the 30 paintings in thirty days, but things happen, like stuffy noses and well... you know. Guess I'll have to lay out a bunch of panels and paint them all at once!!

Number one of my 30 paintings for January. Not sure why this, guess I just dived into the "unknown".
I used this little sketch from when? 2007? Wow....
This painting was done from memory and I used three primaries, a black acrylic marker and titanium white. The three... cad red med, cad yellow med and ultramarine.
Today I saw these beauties glowing in the sunshine outside a local restaurant and I couldn't resist. I snipped off a sprig of these pretties. I did have to be careful, they are protected by many, many thorns!
