"Oh My Goodness" and "Myra's Sunglasses". -Sold & Sold

"Oh My Goodness"  8"x6" oil on canvas panel
"Oh My Goodness" is what I image this Santa is saying right now. This is a painting I started last year sometime and never got 'round to finishing it. Tonight I did and I think "Oh My Goodness" is what I'm saying too!

Another painting that was started, hmmm, I'd say in the beginning of November last year, I finished today too! Wow, two finished, I was aiming to finish three, but things changed on me today and I'll have to go for it tomorrow again.

Here is "Myra's Sunglasses". For some reason while painting this one I was thinking about Myra...then all of a sudden the phone rang and it was Myra! Fun.
"Myra's Sunglasses"  6"x6" oil on canvas
My goodness red and pinks are hard to photograph. I'm not sure that Myra wears hats like this but she is from Texas!

These two paintings catch me up to 27 paintings finished for the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge!

Good night Gracie...

The kitchen's a mess!

"Lady in Red"   10"x8" mixed media on canvas
Last night, while painting the Spring rose, I listened to a podcast from last January when Leslie Saeta interviewed Lisa Daria. As a result I was inspired to try to wake up early (5 AM-ish) and paint a flower/rose. So last night before going to bed, I thought I'll get the coffee pot ready and have it automatically come on at 5 AM, the smell will help me wake up. This morning I woke up about 5:10, shuffled around and found my way to the kitchen. The coffee pot didn't come on, I didn't hit the "on" button after I set the preset. Oops, oh well, I hit the on button and away I go. Light, I needed a light for the rose... found one. Long story short, I struggle with that little rose painting and I wiped it off. I decided to work on this little girl instead. I started this in November sometime, well she is a lot closer. After seeing it as a photo, I may need to do just a little more. She also gave me a few more ideas for future paintings... time.

I may try this routine again tomorrow, maybe get a flower painted this time.

I taught a W&C painting with a great group tonight and I was going to use my painting as one of the 30 paintings in 30 days but I forgot to take a photo of it! Oops again!

Good Night...

"The Gift" ---#7

8"x6" mixed media on paper
A very precious gift is being shared with these two figures. What it is, is for you to decide. Each day I look at this and see a different gift. The imagination is a wonderful gift.

This is painting number 7 of the 30 days of painting in January. So far so good. Leslie mentioned today that we have now completed one week, we are 25% there! Now that's a positive attitude, another gift!

Have a great day!

"Girl Talk" ---#4

8"x6" mixed media on canvas panel
More dots, a little bit of glitter, mostly acrylic, "Girl Talk".

It's not a martini, but I think they may have a martini later!

This painting was started... wow, last year sometime. It has been sitting around my studio for a while.  I knew there was something there but I couldn't seem to find it. It made me think about what Myra and I were talking about earlier this week. Use up the materials we already have. I have quite a few paintings started, it may be time to finish a few!

Thanks Leigh, Myra and Leslie, for getting me back to the painting mode. I hope it stays for a while!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

"Go Forth"

7"x5" aquamedia on paper

These characters have quite the hair style going on, so I figure they must be from some other civilization not of this world. The larger one is telling the smaller one that it's okay to proceed and follow your dreams! Go forth and see what this world has to offer and what you have to offer it!

Oh, I'll stop now before I get too carried away.......

Coffee cup paintings 75 and 76 are drying......

"They Like My Hat"

15"x11" acrylic on paper

Happy extra day! I'm quite positive that the ladies on the right side of this painting really like the lady's hat that is sitting on the left. They must! It's so unique! Martha thinks Steampunk!

I was contemplating this to be coffee cup painting number 70, but I think this is more about the figures than it is the coffee cup. So... just because the sitting figure may be holding a cup of steamy coffee.... I decided against it!

Hold tight, 70 is in development!

"Who is She?"

8"x6" mixed media on paper mounted on canvas

Can you just imagine these two talking to each other wondering, who is that other person over there?
Maybe they are thinking about inviting her to coffee with them!

This little abstract figurative came about when I was working on the commission piece "Beth". What a nice surprise to get another painting out of the deal. I love the subconscious!

"Planning the Future" -Sold

8"x6" acrylic on paper mounted on canvas

Which cups shall I take to Bonnie's coffee gathering? I have an idea and I will bring several because we may have more than the expected number of participants!

This little painting is mostly acrylic, but I do have two little dabs of enamel from Mike Swolsky's work table that Leigh acquired for me. It is metallic copper I believe and I have a bit of Acrylic Artists Ink, but that is acrylic, but it is ink. Oh, there I go... thinking again! Yes, this is a mixed media piece no matter how small the mix!

Bonnie, the cups are coming, hope you have a huge coffee pot!

"The Journey Begins"

8"x6" acrylic on paper

We have the cups and Bonnie has the coffee pot. She lives in Canada so that's her house way up North in the distance with the snow. It is December!

We should be there in no time, we believe in the magic of the season!

There is an itty bitty coffee cup in this painting. I'm not sure if the painting is finished quite yet, but I wanted to give you a sneak preview!

Have a wonderful day!

"Sent From Heaven" -Sold

8"x6" Aquamedia on paper mounted on canvas
Absolutely all my friends are sent from heaven...

This is aquamedia on paper mounted on canvas. I call this mixed media aquamedia because there are pieces of acrylic paint that was dried on my palette, that I peeled it off and used in this painting! Robert Burridge calls the pieces of dry acrylic  "skins"....

"Come Along Little Sister"

6"x6" mixed media on canvas panel
A lot can be read into this little painting, so I'll let you the viewer do the reading.

This painting is acrylic and oil paint stick and more acrylic. An abstract with a bit of attitude!

See you tomorrow!
